In 1991, the Flying Jib built in 1900, was moved to a new foundation and received a large addition. With a full finished walkout basement, this vintage cottage was transformed to a luxury summer vacation rental cottage.
Located on 3.4 acres of land, almost half is a long strip of land that goes out to Herrick Bay. So the property includes 50 feet of beach next to the Atlantic Boat Yard. There is a well defined path along this strip. Walk the three hundred yards out to the shore to sit on the rocks and watch the birds and sea and listen to the sounds. The tide goes in and out an incredible twelve feet and the ocean is always different.
The Flying Jib features a large living room and dining room, a large recreation/family room and the kitchen is comfortable and convenient. There are tons of board games, cards, jigsaw puzzles and books. DirectTV is provided in the living room television with a DVD player. The large family room in the basement has a TV with a VCR. There is a home office/coat room with DSL and it is stocked with envelopes, tape, stamps and paper for your convenience.
The swimming pool which features a large deck is off the walkout basement and includes towels, pool toys and patio furniture.
In addition there are two inflatable queen sized beds and at least one couch for extra visitors.
The yard includes a nice area that is perfect for badminton or croquet and there are four working bicycles, two for small children and two for adults.
